Effective from: 1 September 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to all 1:1 Punjabi tuition provided by Nirmolak Heera from the effective date above.

By signing up for or continuing with tuition, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Lessons

Lessons are delivered online via Google Meet.

Your regular lesson day, time, duration and fee will be confirmed when you enrol.

You will receive an email on the day of your lesson containing your Google Meet link.

Your agreed lesson time is reserved for you each week.

2. Fees & Payment

Tuition fees are agreed when you enrol and are based on the length of the lesson and number of students attending.

Invoices are issued monthly at the beginning of each month from [email protected].

Payment can be made by debit or credit card using the payment link provided on your invoice.

All lessons are payable in advance.

If payment becomes overdue, Nirmolak Heera reserves the right to charge the card held on file in accordance with the payment authorisation provided when you enrolled.

Lessons may be paused if payment remains outstanding.

3. Cancellations & Rescheduling

We understand that occasionally you may need to change a lesson.

If you give us at least 48 hours' notice, we will reschedule your lesson to another mutually convenient time, subject to tutor availability.

A rescheduled lesson must be arranged in addition to your regular weekly lessons and does not replace your usual weekly lesson slot.

Any rescheduled lesson must take place within one month of the original lesson date, unless otherwise agreed with Nirmolak Heera. If the rescheduled lesson is not taken within this period, the lesson will be considered used and cannot be carried forward.

If less than 48 hours' notice is given, the lesson will normally be charged in full and will not be rescheduled.

We understand that emergencies and unexpected circumstances happen. Where there is an emergency or other reasonable reason for cancelling at short notice, we are happy to consider rescheduling the lesson at our discretion. However, we cannot guarantee that an alternative lesson will be available.

If you do not attend your lesson without giving notice, the lesson will be considered a missed lesson and will normally be charged in full.

Three consecutive cancellations or missed lessons, or frequent requests to reschedule lessons, may result in Nirmolak Heera reviewing or discontinuing your regular tuition slot.

For lesson cancellations or rescheduling, a minimum of 48 hours' notice should be provided wherever possible.

Notice should be provided either by email to [email protected] or through your WhatsApp group with your tutor.

4. Tutor Cancellations

Occasionally, your tutor may need to cancel or rearrange a lesson.

Where possible, we will offer an alternative lesson time during the same week.

If we give you more than 48 hours' notice that a lesson cannot take place and a suitable alternative cannot be agreed, you will not be charged for that lesson.

If the lesson has already been paid for, the amount will be credited towards your next invoice or refunded where appropriate.

Where a tutor has to cancel at short notice due to illness, an emergency or another unexpected circumstance, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and either rearrange the lesson or credit the lesson to your account.

5. Lateness

Please join your lesson on time.

If you arrive late, the lesson may still finish at the originally scheduled time, particularly where your tutor has another student afterwards.

Any additional time offered due to student lateness is at the tutor's discretion and cannot be guaranteed.

If your tutor is late, the lost teaching time will be made up or an alternative arrangement will be made.

6. Tutors

We aim to provide continuity with your regular tutor.

If you request a permanent change to your regular lesson day or time and your current tutor is unable to accommodate the new schedule, Nirmolak Heera may offer you another tutor who is available at your requested time.

We will discuss this with you before making the change.

7. Resources & Learning Materials

Learning resources will be provided electronically where needed for use during and between lessons.

Resources can be printed or used digitally on a suitable device.

All worksheets, booklets, teaching resources and other materials provided by Nirmolak Heera remain the intellectual property of Nirmolak Heera unless otherwise stated.

Resources are provided for the personal educational use of the enrolled student(s) only and must not be copied, shared, sold, uploaded, reproduced or distributed to others without written permission from Nirmolak Heera.

8. Lesson Recordings

Online lessons may be recorded for safeguarding, quality assurance and tutor training purposes.

Recordings will only be accessed where necessary for these purposes and will not be published or used for marketing without separate permission.

9. Student & Parent Responsibilities

Students should attend lessons with a suitable device, a reliable internet connection and any resources requested by their tutor.

Where tuition is for a child, the parent or guardian remains responsible for ensuring that the child can participate safely and appropriately in online lessons.

Progress varies between students and depends on factors including attendance, participation and practice between lessons.

While we will always do our best to support each student, Nirmolak Heera cannot guarantee that a student will achieve a particular level of Punjabi within a specific period of time.

10. Your First Month

We want you to have the opportunity to see whether 1:1 tuition is right for you.

We therefore encourage new students to try tuition for their first month.

If, during your first month, you decide that you do not want to continue with lessons, that's absolutely fine. Let us know and you can finish at the end of your first month without the usual four weeks' notice being required.

After your first month, tuition will continue as an ongoing weekly booking and our normal notice period will apply.

11. Ending Tuition

After your first month, if you wish to stop tuition, a minimum of four weeks' notice is required.

Lessons will continue as normal during the four-week notice period and the usual tuition fees will remain payable.

Notice should be provided either by email to [email protected] or through your WhatsApp group with your tutor.

Nirmolak Heera reserves the right to discontinue tuition in circumstances including repeated non-payment, three consecutive cancellations or missed lessons, inappropriate behaviour, misuse of our resources or a serious or repeated breach of these Terms & Conditions.

Where appropriate, reasonable notice will be provided.

12. Your Legal Cooling-Off Rights

Your first-month arrangement above is separate from any cancellation rights you may have under UK consumer law.

If you enter into your tuition agreement online or at a distance, you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of entering into the agreement.

If you ask us to begin your lessons during this 14-day period, you are expressly requesting that we begin providing tuition before the cooling-off period has ended.

If you then exercise your legal right to cancel during the cooling-off period, you may be required to pay for tuition already provided, where permitted by law.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory consumer rights.

13. Changes to Your Regular Lesson

If you would like to permanently change your regular lesson day or time, please contact us.

Changes are subject to tutor availability and cannot be guaranteed.

If your existing tutor cannot accommodate the requested change, we may offer an alternative tutor or lesson time where available.

14. Changes to Fees or These Terms

Nirmolak Heera may occasionally need to change tuition fees or update these Terms & Conditions.

We will provide reasonable notice of any material changes that affect your ongoing tuition.

Any changes to tuition fees will be communicated before the new price takes effect.

Acceptance of Terms

Where the student is under 18, acceptance must be provided by their parent or legal guardian.
